Region of Attica supports Greek Beer Awards for 2025

Acropolis night

We are happy to announce that Region of Attica will support the Greek Beer Awards for 2025, renewing their auspice. The region of Attica includes historical cities like the Greek capital, Athens, the famous Piraeus port, and the historic city of Lavrion, today a modern port that leads to the Aegean islands. In the Region of Attica, more than 5 breweries and more than 10 wineries operate, while the vineyard of Messogia is famous for ancient years for the Retsina wine.

Last year during the Judges Experiences of the Greek Beer Awards, the judges visited two microbreweries, one winery, cape Sounion, where they enjoyed the view of the Temple of Poseidon while tasting Greek spirits, three pubs and a coffee shop where they experienced the traditional Greek coffee. See more here.

Judges Experiences for 2025 are planned, to host the judges and spread the beer and wine tourism of the region, tasting unique products and seeing historical places far of Athens center.

The Region of Attica supports events such as the Greek Beer Awards that help showcase the Metropolitan Attica brand name internationally. Beer, which has a rich history that stretches back hundreds of years, is a particularly popular beverage choice regardless of season and age. In recent years, the public’s increasingly growing interest in various kinds of beers has been strengthened by the wide range of new recipes with special flavours, aromas and the choice of lower or zero alcohol. It is no coincidence, therefore, that Greek labels have an increasingly greater penetration in the international market due to the high quality products and passion of our producers.

The Region of Attica supports every initiative aiming to promote Greek beer, Greek breweries, and Greek brewers in the domestic and international markets. These initiatives can be both independent initiatives and initiatives within the framework of thematic/alternative tourism. Enjoying unique flavours – and beer holds a prominent place in them – helps the visitor better understand the place, its people, and its history.

The provision of guided tours and brewery hospitality services, within the framework of specific tourism proposals, can help businesses of the largest Region of Greece have a higher level of extroversion. The Region of Attica is determined to showcase internationally the distinctive labels of Attica products. We seek to develop the tourism product, giving an emphasis to the high quality experience offered. We want Attica to be a top tourist destination all year round.
